
Meet Andrew N. Karlen
Andrew N. Karlen has established a reputation throughout Westchester County, New York and its surrounding area as a dedicated and knowledgeable advisor to family-owned and other closely held businesses. His areas of expertise include business succession planning; business sales, acquisitions and mergers; employment, non-compete and confidentiality agreements; business entity formation and agreements among business owners; real estate transactions; and other related matters.
A member of the Family Firm Institute, an international organization of professionals from diverse disciplines who advise family businesses, Karlen received its Certificate in Family Business Advising with Fellow Status in 2007. He also is a member of Attorneys for Family-Held Enterprises (AFHE) and co-chairs the Westchester County Bar Association’s Corporate and Commercial Law Committee. Andrew has also has served as General Counsel for The Business Council of Westchester as well as Vice-Chair for Small Business and Vice-Chair for Economic Development. He has also served on the Business Council’s Board of Directors.
He is a frequent speaker at continuing education programs, including chairing panels at two AFHE annual conferences and, most recently on corporate transactions at the Pace Law School New Directions Program. He also donates his time to speak at other business programs, including the Family Firm Institute and the Academy for Entrepreneurial Excellence, an annual multi-week course of study for entrepreneurs presented by The Business Council of Westchester and Westchester Community College.
He holds a Juris Doctor from New York Law School and a Masters of Law in Corporation Law from the New York University School of Law.
